Sunlit Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Northridge, California and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.

My mother-in-law was referred by desert regional hospital to Sunlit Hospice after a terrible fall. George and Amy were the guardian angels who took care of everything and provided my mother-in-law with the most loving care in a clean and beautiful place for her final week of life. They transported her to a hospice care close to her grandchildren and great grandchildren so they could all be with her. She was smiling and without pain knowing she was being cared for in loving hands. I cannot thank George and Amy enough for everything they did to relieve my anxiety and stress. They took care of absolutely everything!!! And Rosie was my mother-in-laws caregiver 24/7 and was beyond amazing. I cannot find enough words to express my gratitude to George, Amy and Rosie!!!!
This team exceeded my expectations in every way possible! Bringing my mom to my home under hospice care was a very difficult decision. I was extremely nervous, scared and had no idea what to expect or what I needed to do! Amy and George stood beside me every step of the way, answered all my questions no matter how difficult or sensitive. Their professionalism, expertise and more importantly their sincere willingness to help and be available no matter the time of day or night was remarkable! I’ve told all my friends and family that I wouldn’t have been able to take on such a huge responsibility and feel good about it with out the support of the team at Sunlit. What started out as an enormous and scary task turned out to be one of the most peaceful experiences for our family! Thank you George and Amy!!!
