Caregiver Job Description

Caregiving experience is not required, but is helpful (private in-home care, assisted living, group homes, etc.). You should have a solid work history with demonstrated reliability. good communications skills and a caring personality. Every client is different, but typical tasks are listed below. Job Duties: Personal care - showering, bathing, dressing, bathroom assistance Remind clients to take prescribed medication Assist clients with walking, mobility and physical therapy exercises Accompany clients to doctor’s appointments, store etc. Plan and prepare meals Transfers if needed (bed to wheelchair, hoyer lifts etc.) Alzheimer/Dementia care Errands such as shopping or accompany clients when they shop Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own Be a pleasant and supportive companion Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent At least one year of care giving or relevant work experience Reliable transportation Valid ID or driver license Auto Insurance Clean background (case by case basis) At least 3 reputable references Upon offer of employment, candidate must obtain current TB test and CPR certification Professionalism, appearance and past performance are key factors in our hiring process. CNA or other certifications are helpful but not required. Hours are based on client needs and cannot be guaranteed, but we do our best to work around your schedule and our clients' needs.
