Caregiver Job Description
Summary: Looking for an experienced caregiver to handle bathing, dressing, incontinence care, medication management, cooking and light housekeeping. Flexible hours- must be reliable and punctual. Inquire within. Responsibilities: • Care for residents as per Needs and Service Plan using appropriate methods. This includes, but is not limited to, helping residents in all personal grooming, i.e., bathing, dressing, medical and dental needs, incontinence care and providing consistent home structure. • Assist in the sanitary preparation and storage of nutritious, balanced meals and snacks. • Provide residents with in-home medical care as appropriate, follow-up with recommendations of medical and dental care, assist and supervise residents with self-administration of medications. • Implement house rules and ensure client rights. • Assist with assessment, development and implementation of the Needs and Service Plan including data collection and documentation of ongoing notes and other resident records as needed. • Communicate/report observed changes in resident conditions. • Transport and accompany residents to scheduled appointments. • Participate in all necessary orientation, in-service and annual on-the-job training. • Comply with visits and requests for information from residents, authorized representatives, placement and regulatory agencies. • Perform daily home management duties such as laundry, bed making and daily resident room and facility cleaning as needed. • Ability to problem solve and act quickly in emergency situations. Minimum Requirements: • High school diploma or General Education Development certificate • 18 years of age • If transporting residents, valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record • Effective communication skills and professionalism • Current health screen with a Tuberculosis clearance • FBI and California criminal record clearance • Signed statement indicating no convictions in the United States other than a minor traffic violation • Complete or have a current First Aid/CPR Training Certificate • Complete on-site orientation • Display flexible attitude and work as a team player Preferred Skills: • 3-6-months experience providing direct care to elderly persons • CNA or related certification a plus D’Nalor Care Homes, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
