Job Description Job Title: In-Home Aide (Certified Nursing Assistant) Date: April 18, 2022 Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • All Certified Nursing Assistants must be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry. • Have no substantiated findings against them for abuse or neglect of a client or misappropriation of a client’s property. • Must be at least 18 years of age or older; • Must possess a current and valid North Carolina driver’s license; • Must be at least a high school graduate or completed a certified GED program; • Must provide written documentation about convictions of criminal offenses from the clerk of court in the county in which the conviction was made. • Must have a baseline skin test for TB. Responsibilities: Responsibilities: · Bathing: Full Bath or Partial; including perineal care · Dressing · Hair and scalp grooming; area of fingernails · Mouth care and Skin Care for normal unbroken skin · Assist with Mobility including ambulation, transfers and bed mobility · Provide basic first aid · Assist with toileting and maintain bowel and bladder continence · Assist with Eating/feeding · Assist and encourage physical activity · Take and record blood pressure, pulse, respiration, routine height and weight · Apply or assist with applying ace bandages, TED’s and binders for stable clients. · Trim toenails for client’s without diabetes or peripheral vascular disease · Delegated Medical Monitoring and Activities · Treatment (Range of Motion Exercises) · Record and report changes in the client’s condition, family situation or needs to the appropriate health care professional. · Assist and encourage physical activity · Meal Preparation for Meals and/or Snacks · Modified Diet for Meals and/or Snacks · Light housekeeping · Essential Errands for the Recipient · In-home companionship · Completion of weekly time sheets · Attend In-Service Training Annually Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Employee/Contractors of the organization. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
