Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
1. Prepare and serve simple modified diets according to instruction and assist with feeding as necessary 2. Assist with bathing, dressing and grooming 3. Assist with toileting, including use of bedpan, commode or toilet 4. Home management tasks including housekeeping, laundry, shopping and errands 5. Assist self-directing consumers with transfers and ambulation including use of cane, walker, and wheelchair 6 Escorting the patient on trips to the grocery store, when required by the Plan of Care 7 Run or help in other errands, when required by the Plan of Care. 8. Aides also assist with cooking and household chores such as laundry and housecleaning. 9. Assist self-directing patients with medication reminders or refilling the client’s prescription at the local pharmacy as specified on plan of care. 10. Provide routine skin care. May assist self-directing consumers in applying nonprescription topical medications to skin surface. 11. Collect routine specimens, where required by Plan of Care 12. Obtain client’s weight, where required by Plan of Care 13. Assist self-directing client in reminding them of their home maintenance exercise programs 14. Assist with the emptying of indwelling catheter care bag, where required by Plan of Care.
