Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including supervising, feeding, and dressing, and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs).
• Specific examples include assisting the client with bathing, showering, dressing, toileting, transferring and ambulating, and accompanying the client on outings.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Completes timekeeping and client documentation in a timely manner.
• Assist with medical treatments and procedures as directed by the doctor and nurse.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to the nurse.
• Protects the organization’s value by keeping patient information confidential.
• Serves and protects the personal care home community by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ calls and requests; and reporting patient observations to the nursing supervisor.
• Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
• Maintains a safe home environment for the client and follows Accord Services Safety and Training guidelines.
• Immediately communicates to the Care Manager and client concerns or unusual findings.
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
• Experience providing direct care for an adult.
• Demonstrated language skills sufficient to read and understand instructions, prepare and maintain written reports and records, and communicate with residents(s).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Caring and empathetic demeanor.
Credential Requirements:
• Driver's License/State issued I.D. (Required)
• C.N.A. Certification (if applicable)
• Current C.P.R. Card (Required)
• T.B. Results (Required)
