Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
We wanted to share why our employees stay with us. Keisha CNA 11 years "We have become a family on 11-7" and the company allows us to work our assignment which fits us. My coworker and I team up to provide patient care. Cherese CNA >1 year - they are always feeding us on 11-7. Some places forget about 11-7 and leave them leftovers. Hope CNA 16 years - I love my residents, been with the company for 16 years have no plans to leave until I retire! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Ability to care for and help residents with all daily living requirements. 2. Ability to read, interpret and follow all written instructions. 3. Ability to understand and follow oral instructions. 4. Ability to communicate in a tactful and caring manner with residents and their families. 5. Ability to work with co-workers and other nursing personnel to provide quality care to the resident. 6. Responsible for documenting in the resident’s clinical record any nursing care given accurately and timely. 7. Receives report from Nursing Supervisor/Charge Nurse for assigned residents. 8. Assists with feeding and setting up of resident’s trays. 9. Assists residents with dressing if indicated, making sure that hands and face are washed, that peri-care is given, oral hygiene is given and that hair is combed. Makes the residents’ bed. 10. Measures and records I & O. 11. Appropriately positions residents in bed, and turns resident every two hours. 12. Provides preventive skin care. 13. Ambulates residents, trims and cleans nails for residents who do not require specialized treatment. 14. Provides incontinence care for appropriate residents to assure they are clean and dry. 15. Observes, reports and documents any unusual behavior or mood changes of residents. 16. Obtains and records vital signs for residents as instructed.
