Morningstar Living is currently hiring a Chef Manager for the Peace Tree Pub at our Heritage Village campus in Nazareth, PA. This opportunity is full-time with shift hours between 11:30am-8:00pm and benefits including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and many more. The Chef Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Peace Tree Pub. The Chef Manager oversees the day to day operating and long term event planning of the pub, including hors d'oeuvres, drink specials, and special events. Creates a daily lunch and dinner special, happy hour events to include hors d'oeuvres, & drink specials, and in collaboration with the Front of House Manager, design and execute one major event and two minor events each month. Prepare quality food and serve residents and their guests in a safe and courteous manner. Accurately fill out HACCP logs, follow production reports, and follow standardized recipes to produce menu items in correct portions and amounts. Ensure safety compliance; food and environmental monthly audits Ensure overall sanitation meets or exceeds requirements Manages and maintains proper ordering and inventory levels Assist with: Catered functions, planning of special events, pace changers and conducts weekly production meetings with responsible parties. What do I need in this role? Must hold an active ServSafe safe food handler's certificate, renewable every 5 years, or have the willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire. Three to five years' cooking experience, preferably in the full-service menu. Three to five years of supervisory experience. Culinary certificate or degree preferred Must have basic computer skills in the following: Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, & Point of Sale Software. Must have visual acuity to read production sheets, menus, and recipes. Must possess maturity and willingness to assume responsibility as well as a co-operative attitude in person-to-person relationships.
