Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
Morningstar Living is currently hiring a Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator (RN Clinical Coordinator) for our Moravian Hall Square Campus in Nazareth, PA. This is a full-time opportunity with benefits including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more. The R.N. Clinical Coordinator position is a versatile role with 80% of the responsibility consisting of the day to day operations of a neighborhood and supervision of all nursing activities of residents to ensure the highest quality of nursing care. The R.N. Clinical Coordinator will also have 20% responsibility with a specialty area which may include but is not limited to infection control, wound care, restorative care, staff education, and QAPI. This position will assist in organizing and administering the department of nursing services and assume responsibilities delegated by the Director of Nursing Services. What will I do in this role? Ensure that DOH and other regulatory agencies, that regulations, standards and requirements are in compliance. Take an active role in mock and annual surveys with DOH. Assist with the completion, submission and implementation of plans of correction with DOH survey findings when indicated. Assume the role as a clinical leader with 24-hour oversight and management with the daily supervision of nursing staff and coordination of all nursing activities to ensure the highest quality of care. Be a role model in attitude, management and leadership. Exemplify a service attitude. Lead department in our culture change journey with person-centered care and support self-led team approach to decision making. Observe and monitor quality of care given by nursing personnel and make recommendations for improvement through additional training or educational needs. Develop and implement policies and procedures needed to ensure adequate and appropriate delivery of care and services within regulatory requirements, standard of practice and established healthcare philosophy. Coordinate QA and Process Improvement program for their neighborhood; present risk management and safety quarterly reports to QA committee. Attend daily huddle in all neighborhoods and make daily resident rounds on assigned unit to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional status of residents and identify needs and strengths and initiate any appropriate nursing intervention and referral to the medical team. Review and revise plans of care for strengths, needs/problems, goals, and approaches to assure that resident centered care needs are met and provided on a consistent routine basis. Attendance at resident care conferences. Make rounds and coordinate resident care with the physician/NP, noting and implementing physician orders and supervising to assure that orders are carried out. Administer medication and perform treatments as prescribed by the physicians. Involvement with wound rounds, infection reports, investigation of falls/incidents, ensuring compliance with Restorative nursing programs, QAPI, updating 672 and 802 forms, and supporting and enhancing person directed care. Respond to emergencies, administer emergency treatment and assist physician/NP as required. What do I need in this role? Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN is preferred. Current licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners. Minimum of two years experience, 5 years preferred, in nursing supervision. Experience preferred in Gerontology Nursing.
