Abundant Blessings Adult Family Home, Inc. is an Adult Family home located in Spokane on the South Hill close to Manito Park. This position is responsible for the safety, meals, and well- being of six adults with Dementia and/or Mental Health issues. The Employee will have the opportunity to help shape the character and quality of the Adult Family Home. Position Summary: Each shift is responsible for various duties including, but not limited to ADLs, showers, cooking, cleaning, laundry, activities and all other aspects of a home environment while taking care of up to 6 incapacitated adults. Working Conditions: Employees are responsible for the health and well-being of all residents. If they are not on duty they are responsible for the actions and choices of the other staff running the home in their absence. Abundant Blessings is dedicated in offering the support a capable and dynamic caregiver needs to succeed. Abundant Blessings is a beautiful home on the South Hill in Spokane, Washington. Four seasons can bring hot, cold, wet and dry conditions depending on the time of year. Essential Functions: • Collaborate with Resident Manager and other staff to ensure all direct care of our residents are met. • Provide all aspects of the Residents’ Daily Living Skills as identified in their negotiated care plan. • Plan and preparation of nutritious meals, including snacks. • Participate in all housekeeping tasks to ensure the Home is clean and well maintained (inside and outside). • Listen well and be a team player. • Ensure that residents rights are maintained and privacy laws are adhered to. • Be familiar with all background information on each resident and communicate well with resident families regarding resident activity and events. • Monitor resident health changes and needs, and report to Resident Manager and/or Provider. • Adhere to safety plan for each of the 6 residents, based on their abilities and needs (e.g. level of supervision, monitoring) • Act promptly and effectively in emergency situations. • Assist residents with social, recreational, and leisure activities in collaboration with the Resident Manager and Provider. • Engage in educational growth of self. • Identify significant behavioral issues and report to Resident Manager and/or Provider. • Report all incidents in a timely manner to the Provider, complete incident log and/or reports as directed. • Communicate and collaborate well with staff, Provider and other professionals. • Regular, functional attendance • Help maintain a healthy, open and loving home environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Pass Fingerprint Background Check • Active CNA or HCA license. • Blood Borne Pathogens • Dementia Specialty for Long Term Caregivers* • Mental Health Specialty for Long Term Caregivers* • Nurse Delegation* • Nurse Delegation for Diabetes* • First Aid/CPR and AED • First of 2 Step Tuberculosis Screening (First within 72 hours) (Second within 21 days) • Food Handler’s Permit *Abundant Blessings Adult Family Home, Inc. will assist the right candidate in obtaining the additional specialty education.
