Our CNA’s deliver various personal care and services in accordance with an established plan of care and provides for the personal needs and comfort of patients in their homes. Qualifications & Education: o High School Diploma or GED required o Certified Nurse Aide Certification required through successful completion of an approved program. o One year-full time experience in personal care or an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, or one-year full-time experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home care agency setting; or o Evidence of sympathetic attitude toward elderly care o Demonstrated ability to read, write and carry out directions. o Evidence of maturity and ability to deal effectively with job demands. o Must have good verbal and written communication skills. o Attend eight (8) hours of personal care-oriented services per year. o Participate in professional meetings when directed. o Ability to work closely supervised to ensure competence in providing client care. o Must have a criminal history check conducted prior to being offered a position with the agency Responsibilities: o Provide personal hygiene assistance o Help clients take prescribed medication o Assist clients with ambulation o Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals o Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so o Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents o Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency o Other duties as assigned Physical Demands: o Sufficient visual and hearing ability to comprehend written and verbal communication. Ability to: o Perform tasks involving activity which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing. o Deal effectively with stress. o Work assigned hours per week. o Bend and stand an average of six (6) hours per day. o Lift up to 50+ pounds. o Write up to 3 hours per day. o Work in a stressful environment. o Drive up to 50+ miles per day.
