Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Looking for 1 special caregiver (CNA/HCA) to fill a Full-time Day shift 12 hour position : 7am to 7pm, 3 days per week. Hours can be negotiable. As long as you have genuine compassion, a heart for caregiving, and a desire to learn; I can teach the skills. Active Adventures Assisted Living is an adult family home in Salmon Creek, owned by an Australian RN with 35 years of experience. I am searching for an honest, reliable, friendly caregiver who has a passion for providing the best care possible, in a relaxing, fun environment. I am committed to the overall well-being of my caregivers : physical, emotional, financial, social, and spiritual. Safety is a priority - side rails, call system with pagers, gait belts are used and a powered Hoyer lift is available if needed. Wages depending upon qualifications and professional experience. Primarily midweek shifts (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), may be asked to work occasional weekend shifts with advance notice. Licensed for 6 beds but only choosing to have 4 residents. At this time there are no diabetics, no ostomies, and all residents are ambulatory or able to take steps to WC. Med pass with computer & med packs, personal hygiene, activities, meal prep & meal servings and laundry / light housekeeping are the majority of tasks. RN owner is lives in the house, but these shifts are to allow the owner time away from the house / caregiving duties and time to attend to small business operations and future planned growth of the company. Continuous on-the-job training in critical thinking, medication management and interdisciplinary communication, will educate and empower each caregiver toward confident, independent decision making. Support and training to advance your caregiving career, and an in-house career advancement program that supports you if you desire to one day open your own care home or become resident manager. CEU reimbursement Excellent staffing ratio - no more than 4 residents to 1 caregiver, and the RN owner present most mornings to help, and on call 24/7. Families are friendly supportive, and open communication is encouraged. Duties May Include : Technical skills may include taking and recording of vital signs, medication administration, applying dressings and administering treatments such as supra-pubic catheter care as delegated / ordered by an RN or MD (within the scope of CNA Licensure) Assisting residents with bathing, mouth and skin care, grooming and dressing, toileting assistance, eating and hydration. Providing emotional support and companionship. Meal prep and activity planning, laundry and light housekeeping, and attention to all resident needs. Spoil them, engage them, converse and joke with them. I like keep the mood lighthearted and happy. Household chores as needed to maintain a clean organized facility. Computerized charting for medications, although end of shift progress notes, care plans and narcotic counts are still on paper. Experience and Attributes Desired : Must be well organized, flexible and able to function effectively and independently as assigned and show a positive attitude and the ability to maintain professionalism. Must possess the physical ability to assist with resident position changes and transfers, Creative problem-solving skills, excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills are helpful. Should develop a courteous, caring and understanding attitude towards residents, families, co-workers, visitors, and physicians. Must possess the desire for continual learning and personal growth, to become a better caregiver than you ever imagined you could be.
