Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and family members. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive living environment. Monitor and document vital signs, reporting any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate healthcare personnel. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical equipment, including Hoyer lifts and catheters. Maintain cleanliness in the client's living space, including laundry and light housekeeping tasks. Support clients with memory care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care as needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining accurate medical documentation in EMR or EHR systems. Collaborate effectively with family members and healthcare teams to develop personalized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Experience Previous experience in home health, caregiving, or senior care is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and basic nursing skills is highly beneficial. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or long-term care settings is a plus. Certification in CPR is required; additional training in hospice care or specialized caregiving techniques is advantageous.
