Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience in home care, personal care, or healthcare setting (preferred but not required).
• Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) a plus, but not mandatory.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Must pass a background check and CORI screening.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if applicable).
• Ability to lift, turn, and assist clients with mobility as needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, patient, and respectful demeanor.
Responsibilities:
• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide assistance with light housekeeping tasks including laundry, meal preparation, and tidying of living areas.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, encouraging engagement and social interaction.
• Assist with medication reminders and monitoring (as permitted by state regulations).
• Escort clients to appointments or errands, when necessary.
• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition or behavior to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow all care plans and safety protocols as instructed by the care coordinator and client service team.
• Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner using agency tools.
