Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description
A graduate from an accredited nursing school and at least one year of continuous work experience in a healthcare setting .A current license as a practical nurse for the state in which the nurse practice and free from disciplinary action. Strong interpersonal skills that allow the nurse to get to know their patients, build personal rapport and establish trust to provide high-quality care while increasing patients enjoyment and comfort. Initiative so they can make independent decisions when required. Flexibility and patience to work in a variety of living environments. Assess and chart observation of patients condition of each visit. Complete evaluation task including reviewing medication and vital signs. Administer physicians prescribed medications .Dress or redress wounds and assess the healing process. Must be able to provide proper tracheotomy care and G-tube feeding to adults and pediatrics patients. Provide education to patients and families on proper home health care procedures and strategies. Coordinate with physicians, Physical Therapist , Occupational Therapist and other individuals in the patient care plan. Keep the patient comfortable through palliative care.
