A Home Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in providing medical care to patients in their own homes. These dedicated professionals work with patients who have a variety of medical conditions, including chronic illnesses, disabilities, and injuries. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that patients receive high-quality care while maintaining their independence. **Duties and Responsibilities:** 1. **Patient Visits:** Travel to patients' homes and manage their care plans according to physicians' instructions. 2. **Medication Administration:** Administer prescribed medication and insulin, as well as complete blood pressure, glucose, urine, and stool tests. 3. **Wound Care:** Inspect wounds, change dressings, and handle personal grooming and hygiene. 4. **Assessment:** Test for muscle weakness, bedsores, and any signs of infection. 5. **Family Communication:** Listen to family members' concerns and answer their questions. 6. **Patient Education:** Educate caregivers and family on aftercare or ongoing care for the patient. 7. **Healthcare Recommendations:** Provide suggestions for improved healthcare to physicians and family members. 8. **Monitoring and Reporting:** Monitor patient recovery and compile reports for the physician. 9. **Professional Development:** Stay informed about developments in healthcare by attending workshops and lectures. 10. **Collaboration:** Work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to develop improved diets and healthcare plans for patients. **Requirements:** 1.LPN/LVN License in the State of Florida 2. Additional courses in biology, anatomy, and science may be required. 3. Relevant license and certification as an LPN. 4. Completed apprenticeship or experience in a similar role. 5. Excellent observational and problem-solving skills. 6. Ability to follow instructions while also acting independently when necessary. 7. Strong report writing skills. 8. Active listening skills and empathy. 9. Physical and mental strength. 10. A valid driver's license and reliable transport may be required.
