Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Job Description
Apply directly at www.stpaulseniors.org/our-careers. FT/PT/On-Call available BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for the nursing care for meeting the spiritual, emotional , and functional needs of Residents. Ensures quality care to Residents by delegation of responsibilities to direct nursing staff based on the acuity of the Resident, and the skills, training and experience of the staff member. Assists in the training of nursing staff as requested and as is appropriate. CLINICAL: Coordinates Resident care management on assigned shift and is accountable for the clinical management of Residents. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have current California license, either as a Registered Nurse or as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Demonstrated supervisory, management, leadership, and employee relations skills EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in the English language. Minimum of one year of experience in long term care which must include direct care of the elderly or the chronically ill. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequently must be able to push and pull objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to lift and carry objects more than 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
