About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide in-home, one-on-one care for an autistic adult who is non-verbal and requires support with activities of daily living (ADLs), medical needs, and transportation to appointments and community activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various medical settings, including inpatient care and pediatrics, and will be responsible for delivering personalized nursing services to ensure the well-being of our patients. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while adhering to established care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care in the home, including:
Colostomy care and maintenance
Seizure monitoring and response
Administer medications and monitor patient response
Record and report any changes in patient condition
Assist with ADLs including bathing, dressing, feeding, and hygiene
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
Offer compassionate support and respectful communication, understanding the unique needs of a non-verbal individual with autism
Safely transport the patient to and from scheduled medical appointments, therapies, and community activities
Collaborate with family members and other care staff to ensure continuity and quality of care
Preferred Qualifications:
Current and valid LVN license in the state of CA
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance
CPR/First Aid certification
Preferred but not required:
Experience in home health care
Background working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
Comfort and experience with non-verbal communication techniques
