Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description

Provide physical support for participants with daily activities and personal hygiene. Obtain a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about participant's condition, treatment plans, and suggested activities. Measure and record food, liquid intake, urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff. Communicate possible issues requiring medical care (including open wounds, bruises and blood in urine). Provide reminders and/or assistance (when applicable). Note and communicate behavior and status changes (obtained through observation, complaints, and/or notice of physical symptoms) to nurses. Stay up to date on professional trainings, facility policies and procedures. Requirements: 3+ years work experience in home care Basic Health and Tuberculosis Screening Participate in Quality Improvement Program Able to lift up to 50lbs Current on CPR (American Heart Association) Certification. Ability to think and work independently with direction. Ability to communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. High School graduate or equivalent Clean Background Check Required
