Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
This role assures that the organization is in compliance with state licensing requirements and all applicable state and federal regulatory standards are continually met. Responsibilities: -Regularly assesses the needs of clients receiving Nursing services -Assess and chart observation of the patient’s condition at each visit -Dress or redress wounds and assess the healing process -Provide education to patients and families on proper home health care procedures and strategies. -Coordinate with Physicians, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapists, and other individuals in the patient’s care plan -Provide hands on care, (i.e., wound care, ventilator care etc.) -Recommend tools or devices that may improve quality of life for the patients -Regular evaluations and reevaluations (as warranted by changes in condition but at least every 60 days) of the patient’s nursing needs -Taking verbal orders -Make referrals to other disciplines, as indicated by patient’s assessment -Maintain a current and accurate patient medication profile -Medication Administration Teaching -Monitoring Medication -Complete service plans -Train new staff -Supervise management of records -Investigate accidents, incidents, and/or grievances -Conduct orientation training -Medication Administration Teaching -Communicate timely and effectively with agency on changes in visit assignment, dates of scheduled visits, and schedule changes to scheduler and patient care to ensure patient needs are met Recurring training requirements and train staff based on assessments and requirements. Skills: -4 or more years of providing care in residential like settings -Proficiency in managing electronic health records and using systems -Familiarity with hospital operations and workflows -Proficient in specimen collection processing techniques -Experience with ventilators is a plus -Ability to administer injections accurately and safely Strong patient care skills, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality Registered Nurse Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program -Must have use of automobile in good working condition or have access to transportation -Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management position. -Basic Health and Tuberculosis Screening -Participate in Quality Improvement Program -Requirement for job duties able to lift up to 50lbs -Holds a Current RN licensure for state of practice -Holds Current CPR (American Heart Association) -Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance, per state guidelines -Ability to think and work independently and with direction and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
