Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistant to provide high-quality in-home care for elderly clients. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment. This role is vital in helping our clients maintain dignity and quality of life while aging at home.
Key Responsibilities
: Assist clients with daily personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral care, while respecting their privacy and dignity.
: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to dietary restrictions and preferences, and assist with feeding when necessary.
: Provide medication reminders and observe clients for any adverse reactions, reporting concerns to supervising medical professionals or family.
: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying living areas, and making beds to maintain a clean and safe environment.
: Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, conversation, or light exercise to promote social and emotional well-being.
: Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social outings, ensuring safe transportation and assistance as needed.
:Monitor and document changes in clients' health, behavior, or mood, communicating observations to family members or healthcare providers promptly.
Qualifications
: High School diploma or GED required
: Experience in personal care, home health, or caregiving (preferred)
: Current CPR/First Aid certification(preferred)
: Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients safely.
: Strong Communication skills and a compassionate demeanor
: Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
