Reviews
I was a at Pennybyrn for 18 days. The the staff looked after me like I was theirs! I had a broken kneecap repaired before coming to this place. They bathed me, fed me, gave me OT and PT. My meds were adjusted to my needs. The food was delicious. The room was private. I was encouraged to eat in the dining room with other clients. If I wanted to stay in my room my tray was delivered with a meal I choose from the menu.I can never thank these people enough for looking after me. When I got home I was prepared for living alone. Dressing, and bathing myself. I fixed my own meals. The therapist prepared me for this. This place deserves 10 stars.
The only reason this place is getting a 1 star is because I had to rate it in order to leave a review. They have the absolute bottom of the barrel when it comes to nursing, incompetent staff administering the wrong medication and refusing to help a resident call a family member. The place has a nice decor and that seems to be where they like allocating most of their money towards instead of hiring competent staff. Our experience with Pennybyrn was a nightmare. I wouldn't leave my dog there let alone a loved one. Beware of the dangers hiding in this place.
I was absolutely blown away by the staff and how they exhibited such caring and concern, not only for the patient but for the caregivers of the patient! I worried myself sick and cried for several days trying to make the decision to put mom in a rehab there, when I left I cried again but it was tears of joy. My mom is so happy there and tells me there is absolutely nothing for me to worry about !
Nightmare care. Memory care was horrid and I can’t even drive by thinking I let them attempt to care for my dad his last two months of life. In fact, as a nurse I stayed with him round the clock for his last weeks of life because I couldn’t trust their care of him. Very awful experience.
Good place to put your loved ones. They will be taken care of and not forgotten about. Trust worthy place. And plenty to do here and see.
