The administrators and staff were caring and professional. I was pleased with the care they gave my husband. They were patient and compassionate with both of us.

Our experience with this nursing home was outstanding. They were very attentive to my mother in her last days and made sure she was clean, calm & comfortable. The staff, even the maintenance man continuously asked if we needed anything or if there was something they could do. I would highly recommend Winchester Terrace. Tho my mother's stay was short, I am very pleased with the care she received in her last days.

After my mom spent a month in the hospital we needed to find a nursing home for short-term therapy. Choosing a nursing home is a very scary process, we're going into the unknown. I looked online, read reviews and in a short time she's leaving the hospital and we had to make a decision. Our experience here at Winchester has been great. Everyone from the nurses, the aides, the dietary staff and even the custodians have just been awesome with my mom she has mid-stage Alzheimer's and could not stand for more than 30 seconds at the hospital, they had to use a hoyer to move her from bed to chair. Now working with therapy there she is now able to stand with assistance hold on to a walker pivot and sit down in a chair or on the toilet. Her legs are very swollen and this is a struggle we will continue to deal with at home. Everyone has been caring and I could not ask for a better place for her to be right now. I watch and listen as to how the other residents are treated you never know if your parent or loved one is being treated well at that time because you're there but I hear and see respect for all the patients from the staff.

My mom arrived there and waited over an hour before seeing a nurse. While we were waiting I plugged in her phone charger and the outlet sparked. The bed sheets looked like they were 20 years old and dingy. The bed didn't lock, and the recliner she was sitting in looked like it was picked up off the street. The room smelled like mildew and when trying to open window it would stay open. Finally the charge RN came in and rudely asked us to leave room for admission assessment in which my mom told me the RN was very ruff and hurt her while doing a full skin assessment. After 30 mins we were allowed to return to her room, where we sat for a few hours. No welcome explanation to facility or accommodations. I got feed up waiting and looked for someone to get my mom some food. I found the staff hanging out at the nurses station. When food was brought my mom didn't eat it cause she said it was awful. I had made a call to our care manager to let them know that the facility was a dump and requested to move my mom. However, our care manager breached confidentiality and repeated my comments to the Administrator. The worse part was that the Administrator, DON, and social worker marched into my mothers room and shut the door. Again no introductions made to us, I saw each of these individuals sitting in there offices when looking for lunch for my mother. They were very unprofessional and a bit on the bullying side as they stated, We heard you think our place is a dump, where do you wany us to transfer your mom. My mom was so scared she said she stay for the night and try it out. I got multiple calls from her through the night, she needed to use the bathroom and it took over an hour for someone to help her. She was also told after I left of quarantine requirements in which no one discussed with us on admission. She asked for her nightly insulin and pain medication but was told there were no orders and she would have to wait till DR arrived next morning at 1030. So she was awake all night in pain. 1030 came and still no DR to see her and get her medications she needed. By 1200 she had called the social worker and requested an AMA. When I arrived my mom was ready to go but was wondering why she hadn't had her dressing changed. The Social worker and the DON came in the room and told us she signed out AMA so they wouldn't be doing any dressing changes and proceeded to inform my mom she'd receive a bill for the night. The 2 RN's that were there that morning were very kind but the Charger RN, Social Worker, DON and Administrator were awful and need to find a new field of work. Took less than 24 hours to prove exactly what I said on my first impression, Winchester Terrace is a dump and not fit for anyone you care about.

DO NOT send your loved ones to this facility! My sister was in their care for a period of only (7) days and almost lost her life. During the week that my sister was in their care; I had to call the front desk from my home four times to get her some assistance. Had I not made that fourth call to get her some help she would more than likely not be here today. Since that day, she has been hospitalized and fighting for her life. They claim to not be short staffed; yet they consistently walk around ignoring the residents call lights requesting assistance. I say to you again, PLEASE, do not send your loved ones to Winchester Terrace!
