Beehive Retirement is hiring for part time/Fill In caregivers. Pay is dependent on experience. For those with no experience, this is a great starting point for someone that would like to begin a career in Healthcare. Overview: To Provide individualized service to residents, according to Service Plans, in a manner in keeping with our goals of treating each person with dignity and respect. Qualifications and Job Skills: -Must hold a current certification in CPR/First-Aide (within 30 days of hire) -Must hold a current Food Handler's Permit (within 14 days of hire) -Must have a TEAM attitude and work well with others -Must have/show commitment to good attendance and punctuality -Must be committed to performing each job duty in a manner that upholds the dignity, privacy, independence, safety and security of each resident. -Must be able to listen to, communicate with, and be sensitive to each resident -Must be committed to safe practices, infection control and respect for residents rights -Must have strong commitment to customer service -Must successfully complete all require state training -Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds, up to 30 times per shift -Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and reach Job Duties: Caregivers will assist in providing a pleasant, comfortable environment for residents by: -Following appropriate shift task lists specific to common area housekeeping -Providing scheduled laundry services for resident, including linens and towels -Ensuring that meal times are pleasant, efficient, and on time by assisting with serving meals, clearing tables and maintaining a helpful attitude during meals -Serving trays to those residents who may not be able to come to a meal -Providing daily resident trash pickup -Other tasks specific to maintaining an outstanding environment for residents -Other activities as assigned Caregivers will enhance the care and life quality for residents by: -Being sensitive to each resident by listening and communicating clearly -Providing person care with ADL's as appropriate while striving to promote self-care, independence and dignity, and personal privacy. -Creating a calm and positive atmosphere by the use of good communication skill, simple terns, and a reassuring tone of voice -Enduring the safety and well-being of each resident by intervention and/or redirection when appropriate. -Responding in a gentle, reassuring manner to each resident within awareness of their individual emotional/behavioral/mental conditions/needs -Communicating with family members an visitors as directed by the Administrator in a caring manner that protects the privacy of each resident -Communicating in a positive manner to other employees at shift change to assure continuity of program and care -Other activities as assigned Caregivers will protect the safety and health of each resident by: -Documenting observed changes in condition, interventions/programs used and observed results, and any unusual occurrence in each resident's daily routine -Communicating observed changes in physical condition of the resident to the supervising RN, LPN, Nurse Delegate, and family members (when appropriate) -Assuring the safety of each resident by knowing wheat to do in any emergency situation by being aware of the needs of each resident and by knowing the physical environment of the facility -Using good body mechanics when transferring resident and when lifting/moving other objects to avoid injury -Other actives as assigned Caregivers will honor each resident, at all times, by abiding by the Resident Bill of Rights Key Competencies: -Job Knowledge -Work Quality -Problem Solving -Teamwork -Attendance and Punctuality -Communications -Customer Service
