Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description
Job descriptions: Home Health Nurses work for home health agencies, providing patient care at home. They provide exceptional medical care to their patients by combining their nursing skills and compassion. Their duties include taking vital signs, initial health assessing, administering medication, and changing and monitoring wounds. They produce progress reports for doctors after each appointment. They may also teach loved ones how to administer medications, check blood sugar, new health diagnosis, and change bandages. During patient visits, Home Health Nurses do a variety of duties based on the patient's needs. Qualifications: Must have 2 years of nursing experience, in a community/home health agency or in a hospital setting, preferably in a home health setting Associate Degree or bachelor’s degree in Nursing required from an accredited School of Nursing. Must have a valid State of Alaska Nursing License and CPR certification Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to fill in when needed Excellent bedside manner, good effective communication skills, and team player. Ability to explain treatments and conditions to clients of all ages and their families. Must have a working knowledge of home health care principles and techniques of professional nursing and required documentation that pertains to it. Should be skillful in organization and in the principles of time management and have knowledge of management processes. Must be able to contribute to the quality of care being rendered through constructive communication with nursing managers and staff. Must pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and fingerprinting. Must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, driving license, and a good driving record. This job requires traveling from patient to patient’s home. Job Type: Full-time Education: Associate Degree or complete an LPN school. Licenses or certifications: Alaska State LPN license, and CPR/AED Schedule: Very Flexible Must have auto insurance, Driver's license, vaccination record, driving record Must have been vaccinated or have an exemption (Medical or Religious) and willing to test weekly.
