My mother, under hospice care, was a resident in skilled nursing for 7 months. The hospice people were great. Although there were Jennings employees who took good care of my mom, the ones who didn't ruined my opinion of the facility. My wife went to visit my mom one day and couldn't find her. She eventually was able to locate her sitting in a common TV room without any other people around. No other residents. No employees. No call button if she needed help. We purchased a pad for my mom's Broda chair seat, because she wasn't comfortable. The staff said that they would place it under her right after lunch. I stopped in 4 hours later and she was not sitting on the pad. I had to look for someone to find out why and found two aids sitting in the corner of a room looking at their phones. They came up with with a lame excuse why they didn't help my mom. My mom fell in her room once, was not injured, but it took 8 hours before the staff notified me. When I inquired about the delay, I was told it was because I stated that I didn't want to be called in the middle of the night. That is not true. Plus, she fell at 6:00 in the morning. The Hoyer style lift in my mom's room was broken during the last week of her life, even though I was told that maintenance would take care of it. Because of this broken equipment my mom had to be lifted from her bed and chair by two employees, which I know caused her pain. I saw her cry when they were doing so. One of the nurses once told me that they referred to my mom as "The nicest of the crazies." Really? Finally, one of the employees there told me not to leave any money in mom's room because it would probably disappear. Wow. The photo is of the broken lift, taken days after my mom died, when we were removing personal belongings from her room. Still broken after 10 days.
I hope this message gets to the right people. I wanted to personally thank these amazing staff members on the Rehab floor: Danielle; Darby; Brandon; Christian; Kula; Dee; Dominic; the RN nursing supervisor; Dorothy; Arlin; and anyone I may have missed. (if so i'm sorry!) Your kindness and care and sweet personalities will NEVER be forgotten! You made a very tough situation a little bit easier to deal with because of the kindness you showed my Dad while he was on the Rehab floor as well as to the attentiveness to us, as his family. Your names and beautiful faces will never be forgotten and will ALWAYS be appreciated. THANK YOU for all you did for us and GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
I called the Jennings nursing home today 10/30/25. The receptionist was the most unprofessional person that I've encountered in a very long time. She was rude, nasty, unhelpful and very short with her responses. And on top of all that, she transferred me to the wrong department. When I called back she didn't answer the phone. I had to call back a second and third time and she still didn't answer. I feel sorry for anyone who has loved ones here.
I do not believe this is a safe facility for the people in the memory care unit. Assault has been alleged against at least one worker. Not sure if charges have been filed yet but it was reported. Protect your loved ones and look elsewhere. And trust your gut. And last I heard that person was suspended not fired. Please just if something doesn’t feel right pull your family out of there. They don’t have cameras and when you have cameras in the room they put a sign on the door and the workers are made aware of the cameras and often just stand in the door frame or have the patient come out of the room. Just trust your gut bc there may be no way to prove what happened to your loved one in the court of law but they will end up with a broken tooth and a face that is completely black and blue. Just spoke with the officer and this worker is back at Jennings
The previous reviews are accurate. My relative was in the nursing home in the main building. We received frequent calls begging us to get them out of there. STNAS would come in and turn the service light off and tell the resident they will come back rather than take a couple of minutes to resolve the issue. Frequent discussions regarding poor service with the staff, including top management ,were useless all we got were excuses. We were told “ you need to be patient or we are short staffed.” STNAs told our relative “if you don’t like it MOVE “and “it’s not my job” when they asked for help. Jennings had a stellar reputation 30 years ago, but it’s not 1990 anymore. Our relative is now happy in a new facility where the staff cares and is compassionate.
