Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description
Home Health Aide Duties and Responsibilities: Work in client homes to provide routine personalized care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Monitor the patient's health and maintain up-to-date records of the patient's physical and mental condition. Discuss patient progress with the case manager or supervisor; Assist the patient with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating Help the patient in and out of bed, the bathroom, chairs and wheelchairs, and cars Perform simple housekeeping tasks: change bed linens, do laundry, tidy rooms Handle chores like food preparation. Make efforts to keep the patient engaged mentally through conversation, games, and other forms of entertainment. Knowledge of using a Hoyer lift Home Health Aide Requirements and Qualifications: HHA/CNA certification required Continuing Education (CEU's): Domestic Violence's, Alzheimer's, HIV/Aids, Infection control, Medication error, Medication Administration. Physical less than 6 months old must states "Free of Communicable disease " Malpractice Insurance Exceptional interpersonal communication skills Empathy for the hardship experienced by the patient and the patient's family Ability to maintain composure with patients who present challenging behavior
