Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
Oxford Health Care is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse, RN for a Full-Time position as a Nurse Educator. The RN Educator will conduct orientations, create professional developments for our clinical staff, travel to patient’s homes, provide hands on teaching and care, and teach continuous education trainings starting at $95,000 a year. The RN will work at least 60% in the field providing trainings and 40% in our office in Long Beach. As a home care Nurse Educator, you will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary health care team that provides skilled nursing and rehabilitative care to clients, affording them the opportunity to receive the medical care required to remain at home. This position plays a tremendous role in providing leadership to a team of talented clinicians. Experience with all age groups, g-tube, tracheotomy, and ventilators is required. All charting is done electronically. Areas Serviced: Los Angeles South Bay Long Beach Orange County Responsibilities: Conduct orientation, trainings, and continuing professional development courses for new and existing employees. Develop education programs to ensure LVN nursing staff are knowledgeable and understanding of company and nursing policies, procedures, and general practice standards. Develop and implement a training program to teach Pediatric, G-tube, Trach, and Ventilator Management skills to LVNs that have little to no experience in such skills. On an ongoing basis, assess the quality, effectiveness, and appropriateness of orientation/continuing education materials. Develop and present education programs to ensure staff knowledge and understanding of new clinical techniques or the proper use of new equipment and supplies. Work closely with the Clinical Director to ensure compliance of nursing department with Joint Commission, state and federal laws and regulations. Performing assigned duties, including administration of medication, wound care, treatments, and procedures when needed. Monitoring clients' conditions: reporting changes to Clinical Manager and DPCS when needed. Following up with, executing, and properly documenting doctors' orders when needed. Performing client assessments as necessary. Making home visits to clients living in designated territories if needed. Requirements: Current RN license in the state of California One year of paid clinical experience as a RN in home health experience Have valid driver's license and reliable transportation to conduct in home training.
