Caregiver Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Assist clients with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and engage clients in conversation or light recreational activities.Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry tasks. Help clients with mobility, including walking, transferring, and exercising. Ensure the client’s environment is safe and free from hazards. Assist with medication reminders (under the guidance of a healthcare professional). Monitor clients’ well-being and report any concerns to the family or healthcare provider. Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients. Follow a care plan and maintain client confidentiality. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Personal Care Aide certification (if required by the state). Valid CNA certification from an accredited training program. Ability to communicate effectively and work with compassion and patience. Experience working with elderly or disabled clients (preferred). Ability to follow a care plan and report changes in the client’s condition. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility. Ability to perform household tasks, including light cleaning and cooking. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
