Good Sam is an area leader in dementia care. We are seeking a self-motivated, passionate, and caring Registered Nurse to join our family. The primary purpose of a Registered Nurse is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Registered Nurse PRN requirement is a minimum of 1 shift every two weeks, with a maximum of 4 shifts bi-weekly. Night shift is from 6:30 pm - 7:00 am, with a $2.00/hour shift differential pay. Registered Nurses receive a $3.00 weekend shift differential between 7:00 pm Friday to 7:00 am Monday. The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria: Possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana. Must maintain current CPR certification and TB Certification. Responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. Excellent written and oral communication skills with a minimum of intermediate level expertise with MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities. Must exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all matters. Ability to make decisions autonomously in anticipation of needs. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Thorough knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patient with excellent problem-solving skills Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians Collaborate with physicians and Director of Nursing to devise individualized care plans for patients Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders Provide instant medical care in emergencies Supervise and train LPNs and nursing assistants Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc. We recognize that our employees are at the heart of achieving our mission.
