Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description

Providing exceptional resident care is the foundation of our Home. We are seeking a self-motivated, passionate, and caring Registered Nurse to join our family. The primary purpose of your position is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Full time position works (3) three 12-hour shifts, including every 3rd weekend. Day shift is from 6:30 am - 7:00 pm. Night shift is from 6:30 pm - 7:00 am, with a $2.00/hour shift differential pay. Nursing staff receives a $3.00 weekend shift differential between 7:00 pm Friday to 7:00 am Monday. The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria: Associate's Degree in Nursing (RN) from an accredited college or university required. Possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana. Must maintain current CPR certification and TB Certification. Responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. Ability to make decisions autonomously in anticipation of needs. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Thorough knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patient with excellent problem-solving skills Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians Collaborate with physicians and Director of Nursing to devise individualized care plans for patients Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders Provide instant medical care in emergencies Supervise and train LPNs and nursing assistants Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc. We recognize that our employees are at the heart of achieving our mission.
